Establishment:

The School of Chemistry has established in the year 1996 by “SRI MANTENA VENKATA RAJU SEVA SAMITI” with Three years Under Graduated chemistry (B.Sc., Chemistry) courses. Later in the year 2002 in extension to this two years Post Graduated chemistry (M.Sc., Organic Chemistry) courses launched, to provide a valuable higher education in chemistry at an affordable cost for the students of economically back warded classes of Khajipalem and its surrounding villages.

Department of Chemistry is a dynamic centre for teaching and research at the frontiers of chemical sciences. It has been established as one of the leading centres in the state for education and research in chemical sciences. The Department has highly qualified faculty to teach and train the students towards higher education, research and competitive exams on Chemistry. The high quality advanced teaching pursued by the faculty members of the department supplement and complement the teaching and training of undergraduate, post-graduate.

The Department of Chemistry is well equipped to support high-quality teaching. The faculty and students take active participation in National and International conferences/workshops to present their Interest towards Research. A good number of visitors come to interact with the faculty/students and to give lectures. The Department is supported by “SRI MANTENA VENKATA RAJU SEVA SAMITI”, KHAJIPALEM to achieve academic potentials.

Outgoing M.Sc. students find employment in leading pharmaceutical companies like Dr Reddy Research Laboratories, Divis Laboratories, G.V.K Biosciences, Hetero Drugs, Shasun Drugs, SRF, Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited etc. Students find employment through campus interviews as well as by direct contact. Pharmaceutical companies visit the Department every year and conduct campus interviews to recruit students for suitable positions. Many of our alumni occupy important positions in the academia and industry in Andhrapradesh, Telangana as well as India.
The Post graduated students after their successful completion of M.Sc., get PhD position in renowned Universities / Research Laboratories / Institute in India. From the very inception, the department has built an excellent track record of finding its postgraduate students qualify for the National level tests, such as CSIR-UGC NET/GATE to seek academic progression. Our masters’ students do well in national and state-level competitive examinations like CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, and APSET etc., several of them qualified in those programs to pursue a research career.

Student Success:

Students of our institution are doing well in university-level semester examinations, national & state-level competitive examinations like CSIR-UGC-NET, GATE, APSET etc., and several of them go on to pursue a research career. Many of our alumni occupy important positions in the academia and industry in Andhrapradesh and India.

Department Activities:

Work-Shop: 

The year 2009 onwards, in every year, we are conducting a 20 days workshop for M.Sc., Chemistry Students in the completion of their project work with the collaboration R.V.Labs., Guntur. In this workshop, we train the students how to handle the instrumental techniques HPLC, GC, Flame Photometry, UV spectrophotometry, Water and soil analysis.
